The VCE Vocational Major (VM) is a vocational and applied learning program within the VCE designed to be completed over a minimum of two years. The VCE VM will give students greater choice and flexibility to pursue their strengths and interests and develop the skills and capabilities needed to succeed in further education, work and life.

The VCE VM prepares students to move into apprenticeships, traineeships, further education and training, university (via non-ATAR pathways) or directly into the workforce.

The purpose of the VCE VM is to provide students with the best opportunity to achieve their personal goals and aspirations in a rapidly changing world by:
• equipping them with the skills, knowledge, values and capabilities to be active and informed citizens, lifelong
  learners and confident and creative individuals; and
• empowering them to make informed decisions about the next stages of their lives through real life workplace
  experiences.

Students in the VCE VM (Year 12, 2024) will complete five compulsory subjects including:

. VCE VM Literacy Units 3 and 4
. VCE VM Numeracy Units 3 and 4
. VCE VM Personal Development Skills Units 3 and 4
. VCE Work Related Skills Units 3 and 4
. VCE VET Business Studies (Cert II in Business) - Year 2
. Year 12 Religious Education

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

• St Joseph’s College cannot guarantee selection or enrolment in any VET studies for 2024. Students should complete an Application to undertake a VET Study form in addition to this form.

• Students will be required to attend any compulsory orientation/enrolment sessions for the VCE VM (Year 12, 2024). Details will be provided to students in advance of the session.

• An interview may be required to finalise your application.

Instructions:
This form is to be completed by students who wish to undertake the VCE VM (Year 12) in 2024. Students who apply for the VCE VM are still required to submit subjects that form a VCE Program via the Online Subject Selection Portal.
