Assumption of Risk - Fishing and Archery
Archery takes place at school in the field, and will expose the student to risks, dangers and hazards if not done safely. Falls and collisions occur. Bows and arrows and related equipment may be placed under extreme stress and can malfunction. As with many activities, archery involves the risk of injury, including serious injury, head injury, paralysis or death. Although the risk of injury can never be completely eliminated, the student can manage the risk through using the equipment properly, always pointing the arrow down the shooting lane, and following instruction. Fishing will take place in various locations: school classroom, school field, local river banks, and will expose the student to risks, dangers and hazards if not done safely. While they will learn the safety of the outdoor activity and gain essential skills a student must conduct themselves and the equipment with the utmost care. As with many activities, fishing involves the risk of injury, including serious injury, head injury, paralysis or death. Although the risk of injury can never be completely eliminated, the student can manage the risk through using the equipment properly, and following instruction.
