Are you interested in participating in sessions to put out camera traps?  This will involve working in a small group for a few hours to go out to a bush area between Venus Bay and Waratah Bay to place camera traps (either on private land or in the Cape Liptrap Coastal Park). You will need a vehicle to get to the site. There will be a follow up visit 3 weeks later to retrieve traps. A South Gippsland Landcare Network staff member or lead volunteer will be present to support the volunteers. *
Depending on the number of volunteers we have, there may be opportunities to put traps out (and then retrieve them) more than once. How often would you like to do this? *

Any other comments or questions about looking at camera trap images?
Volunteers will register with SGLN which will mean you are covered by our insurance while out on site. In addition to this, it is a Parks Victoria policy that all volunteers who will visit Parks Victoria land will need a Working With Children check (WWC). WWCs are free to obtain and can be done online. It can take 3-12 weeks for your WWC to be processed.

All SGLN staff are fully vaccinated for Covid-19. Activities will comply with current Victorian government COVIDsafe requirements. QR codes will  be used to check in participants at each activity. All participants will be required to show proof of double-vaccination. Are you willing to show proof of vaccination?

We are also looking for a small number of Lead Volunteers. This will involve doing some extra training, and going into the field with groups of volunteers or students to support them. Would you be interested in being a lead volunteer?
