Avery Elementary Girls on the Run Parent Interest Survey
We are in need of helping Girls on the Run team for Avery Elementary for spring 2024. This program meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays after school from 3:00-4:15pm. Practices run from Monday, March 11th to our last practice on Wednesday, May 8th. It culminates with the team running the GOTR 5K in Forest Park on Saturday, May 11th!

Please respond if your girl (3rd-5th grade) is interested in participating AND/OR if you would be able to COACH and VOLUNTEER. The program relies on volunteer coaching. if  Learn more about the program here: https://www.girlsontherun.org/. Coaches do not need to be experienced runners! You just need the desire to encourage girls to challenge themselves through movement, fitness and goal-setting!

To sign up your 3rd, 4th or 5th grade daughter for the program, please visit https://www.girlsontherunstlouis.org/ or call the STL office at 314-862-6266

GOTR relies on parent coaching and volunteering to help with the lessons (usually about 25 minutes each time) and monitoring the girls as they run/walk. We need about 3 coaches/volunteers each session!

Coaches must go through a training and can teach the curriculum. We'd ask for a once-a-week commitment from coaches.
Volunteers can assist with the run/walk portion and be involved more sporadically as help is needed. Being with the girls is a lot of fun and we hope for a lot of parent involvement!

ALSO: You do not have to be an experienced runner to be a coach or volunteer!!!
