Dear 8th Grade Parents,

Your child has the opportunity to enroll in a five day outdoor educational experience at Pali Institute, located in the San Bernardino Mountains near Lake Arrowhead, only 90 minutes from San Marino. While at camp, students will participate in a wide variety of educational activities designed to increase their awareness of the natural environment and ecology, as well as develop leadership and orienteering skills. Some of the activities planned for this year’s trip include a team building, ropes courses, zip lining, archery, and orienteering through a forest environment.

The trip is scheduled to depart from HMS parking lot at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019, and return to the school at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019. The fee to participate is $675. In order to guarantee your child a spot on this trip you must complete the following by no later than Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 4:00 PM.

1. Complete the HMS Registration for 8th Grade Outdoor Education Camp to Pali Institute.

2. Submit your $675 payment via check or credit card. You can pay by credit or debit card at the HMS front office or go online and pay at: https://HMSStore.myschoolcentral.com (with your student's ID number).

3. Complete the online cabin mate selection at https://forms.gle/YFP2NfmvD5sw5fNE7. (Again,  your child’s @student.smusd.us email must be used.)

4. Complete the "Pali Institute" online registration. (You will receive a separate email from Pali Institute which includes a username and password). This is different from the HMS registration (Step 1) form and must also be completed.  We will notify you when Pali sends this email out so you can look for it in your email.

Students who complete all forms and submit payment after Thursday May 30, 2019 at 4:00 PM are not guaranteed attendance.
