Scholarships 101 help sessions
Seniors and/or Parents of Seniors can visit with Mrs Clairmont about the scholarship opportunities, including how to navigate the Thunderhawk Scholarship application, GRACF.org scholarships and others.

MAJOR LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

Alworth Scholarship:  http://www.alworthscholarship.org/
STEM students of families that meet income requirements can earn $24,000 for college. Must have a 3.5 GPA or higher and an ACT score of 24 or higher. Application Deadline is Jan 15.

Thunderhawk Local Scholarships: https://www.isd318.org/Page/287
40+ local scholarships are managed through GRHS for GRHS and ALC students. Scholarships include: Paul Bunyan Communications, Grand Rapids Eagles, Deerwood Bank, GRHS Department Scholarships, American Legion, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and many, many others. Students complete 1 application for all of the scholarships they qualify for. Application deadline: Feb 20

Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation (GRACF) Scholarships: https://gracf.org/scholarships/
Local scholarship program with over 140 scholarships valued at $170,000. One common application for all scholarships the student applies for. Application opens Jan 1 and Deadline is March 1.

Blandin Foundation Grants: https://blandinfoundation.org/programs/itasca-area/scholarships/
Given locally through the Blandin Foundation, grants up to $5,000 are available based on family income. Remember that you can apply to the Blandin Edu Grants until you are 25 as long as you are in school! Application opens January 2 and Deadline is March 1.
