Training course: Outreach Youth Work and Promotion of Youth Work Services
International training course “Outreach Youth Work and Promotion of Youth Work Services” will happen from 23rd until 29rd of May (23rd May – Arrival day; 29th May – Departure day) in Latvia and it will gather 20 participants from Latvia, Romania and Lithuania.

OBJECTIVES:
- To identify the concepts, principles and examples of street youth work, working with young people at risk, young people in rural areas.
- To provide participants with practical tools for implementing street youth work in local reality.
- To improve the participants' competences about the steps of planning and implementation of street youth work;
- To ensure the exchange of participants' experience in working with young people at risk, young people in rural areas;
- To identify the opportunities provided by the Erasmus+ program for the implementation of street youth work.

Content of the training course:
Day 1: Arrival of participants
Day 2 – Day 6:
-practical information, learning objectives, group building activities, introduction to the topic: street youth work, forms of youth work, terminology; street youth work practice, context of Latvia, Romania, Lithuania;
- identification of target groups of young youth work (youth risk groups, young people with disabilities); street youth work process and its stages; preparation for street youth work;
- contact making with young people, communication barriers, preparation, dissemination and presentation of information to young people; types and channels of communication;
- Risk identification and assessment, safety and health issues in work with young people at risk;
-quality standards of a street youth worker; Ethical norms and related legislation;
-Establishment of a support system for youth workers; Building relationships with the local community, youth parents, youth leaders;
-preparation of street youth work plans for participants' activities;
-daily evaluations; Informal evening activities, evening of national cultures,
Assessment of learning outcomes, Youthpass;
Evaluation of the training course;
Day 7: Departure of participants

 PARTICIPANTS PROFILE:
- youth workers, representatives of organizations, volunteers, formal and non-formal education workers;
- those who are involved in work with young people - social workers, employees of public institutions, libraries, day centers, youth centers; cultural and sports institutions, youth leaders, heads of youth centers and NGOs;
- with no experience or little experience in outreach youth work, who are working in suburbs, rural areas and villages, with young people at risk, youth in NEET situation and young people with fewer opportunities;
-able to participate in whole duration of the learning process;

FINANCIAL TERMS:
Participation fee: free
Accommodation, 3 meals per day and coffee breaks, materials and local visit expenses during the training course will be covered by Erasmus+ programme. International travel expenses will be reimbursed.
