is proud to present the Science Film Festival, 2020, with the aim of demonstrating that science can be fun and appealing when taught through multimedia. The Festival will present easily accessible scientific issues in a manner that is entertaining to a broad audience. Since its inception in 2005, the film festival has grown considerably and has become one of the largest events of its kind in terms of its global reach. In 2020, the event takes place internationally in over 30 countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa and in Chennai from 7th October to 20th December 2020.
THEME 2020: Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The theme for the Science Film Festival, 2020 is Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Outlined as a collection of 17 global goals that have been adopted by 193 countries and intended to be realised by the year 2030, this vision is our shared blueprint for a sustainable future. In cooperation with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Science Film Festival aims to explore these possibilities through an international selection of films on science, technology and environment for the betterment of people and the planet.
In the SCIENCE FILM FESTIVAL 2020, the films are categorized for the following age groups :
• 2 Films for Early Learners (5-8 yrs)
• 7 Films for Primary Section (9-11 yrs)
• 6 Films for Secondary Section (12-16 yrs)
• 9 Films for University and General Public (17+ yrs)
In light of ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, the selection of the Science Film Festival 2020 is available online. The online links for the films will be sent via seperate email to all the registered schools after the Science Film Festival virtual Inauguration in Chennai.

Teachers/Parents can use these self-explanatory sheets in order to conduct these educational activities with their Students/Children. The activity sheets are also available on our website
