Tell me about yourself?
A very broad and open question. Usually asked as an opener. While it is helpful to cover your work history, most employers have read your CV. Try and explain core values, skills and experiences which make you are a good candidate for the role (using the job description as a guide).
Why did you apply for this company?
This is a chance for you to show your desire for the role and company. The employer will want to know is not just any old job but something you are passionate about. Even if you are not directly passionate about the companies mission, talk about the career opportunities and how you see yourself being a part of their team.
What are your strength and weakness?
Match your strengths to the job description and show examples of them. Weaknesses sounds like a trick question but it’s a great opportunity to show how you would like to improve.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Show you have thought about the future and you have goals in the future. It is fine to mix personal goals with professional ones but make sure to link the personal goals to your potential professional involvement with the company.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced?
Time to show your resilience. This does not have to be a professional example. You can use a personal example. If it is personal, remember to structure your answer professionally and link to the role. Stick to discussing how you overcame the challenge and how it’s prepared you for the role.
