Who: Heartwood students ages 12 - 18
What: Comic & Manga Art, Writing and Producing
Where: the Petaluma Library
When: 10:30am - 11:30am, Tuesdays in October (10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25)
Cost: $20 per session per student. 4 sessions for $80
More Details: Students will study the art of the comics and manga they love. They will copy it. They will create and draw their own comics. If they wish, they will create small, short zines and print their own original works.
The class is focused on:
- not pooping on our own projects and skills and ideas
- seeing a project through from start to finish
- working with others to build ideas, enthusiasm and community
- learning to write and draw and produce comics and manga
Recommended supplies (analog or digital):
Analog:
1 sketch book at least 5x8”, but not so big it takes up the whole table.
Pencil
Eraser
Markers or brush pen for inking
1 - 3 grey markers of different value (level of darkness) - (Tombo, Prismacolor, Copic or similar blending marker) for shades of grey
