General Membership Survey - November 2019

All Parents/Guardians of Socrates Academy Scholars and all teaching staff are granted membership into the Socrates Academy Parent-Faculty Involvement Association (PFI). Several times each year, we survey the general membership to determine leadership decisions and/or how to allocate large sums of money.

This survey is to determine the next large item PFI will save for and eventually purchase for the school. (i.e. 2018 we purchased the Playground Sunshades & 2019 we purchased Water Fountain Refill Stations)

After receiving suggestions at the October PFI meeting and consulting with the Leadership Team, we have compiled a short list of potential purchases.

ITEM #1: Security Enhancements - Cameras
Installation of (5) additional security cameras on campus. (Estimate: $15,000)
ITEM #2: Security Enhancements - Walkie Talkies
Add a second walkie talkie per grade level to allow teachers to quickly contact administration. Currently, each grade level shares one walkie talkie. (Estimate: $2,000)
ITEM #3: Chrome Books
Upgraded technology with class sets of Chrome Books. Each Class Set of 20 Chrome Books includes computer license and cart. (Estimate: $5,000 per class set)
ITEM #4: Covered Walkway
Installation of covered walkway from Couchell Building to entrance of Middle School building (Estimate: TBD)
