Introduction to Instructional Design (Troubleshooting Course Design), November 12, 12:00-1:00
A successful classroom depends on the smooth integration of course content, instructional strategies, classroom management, assessment, technology, classroom setting and the positive interaction of students. Making changes to one part of your course can affect other areas that you thought were working beautifully.  How do you know what’s working? How do you know how to change what isn’t? We will introduce an instructional design framework, review several scenarios for open discussion and invite participants to share situations they wish to change.

Just Stuff that Works, September 10, 3:00-4:00
We have picked out our favorite, time-tested, well-researched, theory-independent, small teaching techniques that just plain work. You don’t have to redesign your course, change your pedagogical style or create new assignments. These can be added by anyone to any course. The techniques help students put into practice behaviors to help themselves be better students and learn how to learn. Ample time provided for participants to share their time tested techniques.
Getting Student Feedback (“Midpoint” Evaluations & More),  September 21, 12:00-1:00
Our courses have undergone substantial revision and we are all wondering what is working well for students and what we can tweak to improve outcomes, engagement and enjoyment. In this workshop we will share several different techniques that can help with course design, small group dynamics and classroom management. We have adjusted techniques for hybrid and online learning.
5 Cool Tools....Hypothesis, Perusal, Intelliboard, FlipGrid, Padlet, October 6, 3:30-4:30
Looking for new ways to engage your students in a hybrid format?  Are you on the search for tools that bridge the boundry between the Face to Face and online aspects, to encourage students to prepare for class and collectively work to support peer to peer teaching and group work?  One of these tools may be for you!  In this workshop we will take a quick look at the features of each and discuss ideas for implementation in your courses.  Additional consultations are available for deeper dives and specific course adaptations.

Grab and Go Teaching Activities, October 23, 12:00-1:00
Pedagogical speed dating. We will give 8 faculty members 6 minutes each to share an engaging, effective teaching technique. You will move in small groups to each breakout room to hear each technique and ask questions. You will even have a few minutes for lunch! Share your recipe for easy to serve activities that will leave your students yearning for more:  [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rXx0sjN3qNbaE75eYCcYQVNeAdISQithkSPTlEA04t4/edit?usp=sharing]
