Unionville Festival 2024 Volunteer Recruitment Application

Thank you for expressing interest in being a Unionville Festival Volunteer for 2024. Please complete the volunteer application form with your information, including your availability for the Unionville Festival. We welcome high school students, university students, and adults to contribute to the success of the festival. Please note that schedules may change, and your responses will provide us with an initial estimate of participation. After filling out this form, expect a finalized form from us finalizing your shift and your confirmed participation for as a volunteer for this festival. 

Volunteer tasks consist of setting up and tearing down the festival, including arranging tables and chairs, moving equipment, handling signage, working with children at the Kidz Zone, monitoring ticket sales and inflatable rides, participating in the parade, entertainment and more.

We need our volunteers to feel comfortable talking to our festival-goers, be capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment such as 10' x 10' tents, foldable tables, and chairs, and be able to work in a crowded and fast-paced environment.

Please note that we can only accept volunteers who are able to attend our in-person volunteer orientation. You are required to attend ONE of the in-person training dates. This orientation is crucial to ensure that all volunteers are equipped with the necessary information for this fast-paced event. If you are unable to attend the in-person volunteer orientation, unfortunately, we won't be able to accept you as a volunteer.

Location: Crosby Memorial Community Centre

Please note: Confirmation email will be sent out to applicants. 

Thursday, May 16th at 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

Friday, May 17th at 6:30pm to 7:30pm

If the weather does not behave on one or either of the training dates, the make up training day will be on Tuesday, May 21st at 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

Shifts Available/ Duties:

Sat, June 1st - 8 AM to 12 PM (4 hours) -  Festival set-up, parade, traffic management, heavy lifting of equipment. 
Sat, June 1st - 11:30 AM - 4:30 PM (5 hours) - Assisting with kids entertainment/activities,  heavy lifting of equipment. 
Sat, June 1st - 4 PM - 9:45 PM (5.75 hours) - Traffic management, festival take down, heavy lifting of equipment. 

Sun, June 2nd - 8 AM - 2 PM (6 hours) -  Traffic management, festival set-up, assisting with kids,  heavy lifting of equipment, entertainment/activities
Sun, June 2nd - 1:30 AM - 8PM (6.5 hours) - Traffic management, festival take down,  heavy lifting of equipment. 

Location: Main Street Unionville and Crosby Memorial Community Centre

Please note that volunteers will be out in the sun in a-crowded space for most of the volunteering duration. 

Volunteer Hours will be awarded to highschool students who require it for graduation.
