Applications for in-person Korean session of the OHBM Brain Mappers of Tomorrow 2024

The scientists of today meet the scientists of tomorrow!

We are excited to organize our 4th annual Multilingual Kids Live Review, now called Brain Mappers of Tomorrow in 2024!  In 2023, we organized 17 Kids Review sessions (either in-person or virtual) around the world in 11+ languagesCheck out our previous events of the OHBM Diversity and Inclusivity Committee - Brain Mappers of Tomorrow: Website

In 2024, we will host one in-person session in Korean (if possible, bilingually with English) to connect scientists at OHBM to children (8-15 years old) in person during the OHBM Annual Meeting in Seoul, Korea.

The main objective of this presentation is to have children learn about your scientific work and get them excited about science and the brain. The presenter is expected to submit a short manuscript (in English) for children to review and then be published in the journal "Frontiers for Young Minds (FYM)".  See submission details Here

For this event, 2-3 Kid reviewers and their scientific mentor will be selected in advance, and their profiles will be linked to the online FYM review portal. The Kid reviewer team will read the manuscript before coming to the in-person session, and will ask several questions. At the end of Q & A time, they will determine if the manuscript can be accepted for publication in FYM. This process is officially linked to the FYM publication process (which is coordinated strictly by FYM).

Each session requires at least 2 moderators and 1 presenter who can speak Korean/English. The role of the presenter is mainly to prepare the materials and manuscript for the talk. Moderators are responsible for the recruitment of local children audiences, event website management, communications, and many components of event organization. OHBM DIC has a highly experienced team in these events and will provide support needed.

If you would like to volunteer to present or moderate a session, please fill out your contact information and the topic of your presentation.
