HOME CARE SERVICES SURVEY

This survey should take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

PLEASE NOTE:

Please complete this survey if you currently or previously access(ed) Home Care Services for yourself or a loved one.  Please disregard this survey if you are not/have not. All active and retired members who access Home Care Services are eligible and encouraged to complete this survey. Describing home care experiences can bring up a lot of difficult emotions and tough memories for recipients and caregivers alike.  If you are experiencing emotional distress, then it is okay to stop taking the survey and connect with your local distress centre or your Employee Assistance Program at one.telushealth.com.

In the spring of 2023, Provincial ARM Council of OSSTF/FEESO approved conducting a survey of all ARM members plus all current active members of OSSTF/FEESO with respect to Home Care Services in Ontario (NOT LONG-TERM CARE/NURSING HOMES).  The intent is to assess how many OSSTF/FEESO members need to access Home Care Services for themselves and/or their loved ones (parent(s), siblings, aunts/uncles etc.) and how satisfied they are with the services currently available.

By completing this survey, you will not be identified in any way. The answers to the survey questions will be tabulated as percentages and/or numbers and comments will be listed without identifying you. Your name, email address, and other personal information will be kept strictly confidential. Access to the data will be limited to members of ARM Council and OSSTF/FEESO Provincial Office Staff. This survey is voluntary.

Once the surveys are completed, we will summarize the results for presentation to ARM Council and the Provincial Executive, to assist in determining a course of action to address the concerns with Home Care Services.

In 2008 the Ontario Health Coalition, with support from the Service Employees International Union conducted public hearings on Home Care Services across Ontario. The final report was presented to the government of the day in hopes of improving Home Care Services.  It is the intent of this survey to provide updated data regarding this issue to support OSSTF/FEESO policy and political action initiatives.
