Wildwood ALC is a nonprofit, inclusive community that seeks members based upon their desire to be a part of a self-directed community, not just their ability to contribute. Our contribution scale and supplemental funds (when available) help make Wildwood available to a wide variety of families from diverse circumstances. At the same time, Wildwood is sustained by family contributions and community led fundraising and we must fairly compensate our dedicated facilitators and cover our basic costs such as insurance, rent, and supplies. We trust that families will carefully consider what they are able to contribute in a manner that is both responsible to their personal needs and values all that goes into operating and sustaining this unique program. Supplemental funds, when available, are only possible through family contributions and family/community led fundraising efforts.

The chart below offers suggested starting points to help estimate a family's contribution amount. This is not meant to be an exact formula, but rather a place to begin. We ask families to contribute generously (and responsibly to your family's needs) based on their income level and any additional Personal Support** they may have access to. Siblings may take up to a 15% discount if desired. If you are able to contribute more than the suggested starting point, consider proposing a higher amount or making a tax-deductible donation. Base contribution amount is based on recent reports of median family income in Watauga (not household income, which includes one member households).
