The Cowles Center | Workshop Request - 2023-24

The Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts is excited to offer our premier dance workshops for K-12 students and adults for the 2023-24 school year and summer (September-August).

Our workshops are interactive learning experiences tailored for your students or participants and designed to fit into your classroom/programming:

Field Trips • Summer School • Day Camps • Libraries  • Community Centers  • Senior Care Communities

OUR ARTS IN EDUCATION PROGRAMS AIM TO:

• Spark curiosity about dance
• Engage new ways of learning
• Empower creativity
• Increase body and spatial awareness
• Connect dance to classroom curriculum
• Impact teacher practices
• Provide opportunities for self-assessment and problem-solving
• Build confidence, teamwork, respect, and cultural awareness

Each workshop is a 45-60-minute session designed for up to 30 students and taught by a Cowles Center Teaching Artist. They are available for purchase at $150 per session. You can choose a single workshop session or several to create a residency run over several days.

SCHEDULING: Check out the different dance styles and session packages available. Fill out the request form with all required fields. Cowles Center Arts in Education staff will reach out to the main contact to confirm scheduling once this form has been received.

**An additional $50 will be added per teaching artist for a planning meeting.**

WORKSHOP INVOICE POLICY - Scheduling, Billing, & Cancellation
SCHEDULING: A follow up email will be sent to the main contact once this form has been received to confirm scheduling. Please allow 1-3 days for a response from October-April. 

COST: Workshop session rate - $150 for 30 participants. 

It is recommended to purchase multiple sessions and divide larger groups for more individualized instruction from the teaching artist. Single workshop sessions (in-person or virtual) with 40 or more participants will be charged as two sessions ($300).

PAYMENT: All invoices will be sent by email within the week following the workshop session(s) completion. Payment is due by the requested date (30 days from invoice date). Failure to submit payment by the due date will result in a 10% late fee added to the total balance due.

The Cowles Center accepts cash, check, or card for payment.

Credit card payments will have a 3% processing fee added to the total. Please request an online credit card invoice to pay by card.

CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING:  
The Cowles Center will make its best effort to reschedule workshops whenever possible.
  • No fee for cancellations/rescheduling with more than a week's notice.
  • No fee for cancellations/rescheduling due to severe weather.
  • Cancellations with less than a week's notice will be charged a $50 fee even if rescheduled.
  • Cancellations with 24 hours notice/Teaching Aritst already onsite will be charged in full.
