Thank you for wanting to get involved in a brand-new outreach project at Oxford Climate Society!

As our social media platforms annually reach people from 178 countries, with our posts reaching daily more than one person from each out of 31 countries, we have decided it is time to go multilingual. Now, it is your chance to be a part of the team creating the translations that can allow us to inspire even more communities.

We welcome all languages (including sign language, no matter if it is BSL or others), and the only requirement is that you are fluent in a chosen language. Previous experience in translating is very welcome, but we are also happy to give you a chance to gain that first experience. This is an opportunity not only for Modern Languages students, but for all who are passionate about climate and who feel they can clearly communicate our content in another language.

The work commitment in the first term (Trinity Term 2021) is expected to be around 1-2 hours weekly, but there will be a lot of flexibility (e.g. during the exam period), and the work will be very self-directed.

The OCS Translation Team is a part of the general Outreach Team, hence you would be free to get involved in many other outreach activities if you wished, including contacting organisations in different countries or coming up with new outreach projects.
