Oh Hello Friend!

TLDR: This is an invitation to.make a community of disabled people working in or shaping culture or cultural Institutions. This is just like a communal space with no stress. It should just feel good and if it doesn't right now/if other stuff comes up that's totally cool! It's an open invite! Feel free to skip straight to the form. The below are just some thoughts around what I'm trying to do!

This isn't through an institution or anything, it's just an idea/something I think would be nice!

I'm reaching out because I love being in community with you as another disabled person. I've felt really supported by the disabled community and love having that moment of a sneaky glance at each other when something ridiculous and silly and heartbreaking happens, or what happens when access needs are ALWAYS at the top of mind just because that's part of who we are or when we understand a lot of things without needing to explain why we understand them

I didn't always feel that way and just feel so freaking lucky to have this now. I also wish that baby Lily growing up had a community like the one I have now and I realized I've got this awesome community because people shared their communities with me.

I wonder if you might like to share community together.

I imagine this as a very informal, fun, joyful community that gathers in whatever magic and disabled way we want.
