2021 Travel Baseball Tryouts
Does your son or daughter love the game of baseball? If the answer is yes then Travel Baseball is the obvious next step. Harleysville has a long standing tradition of having some of the best teams in the area. This has never been more evident than two years ago when the Souderton Highschool won the 6A State Championship and our 8U team went to the Ripken World Series. Every year we hold tryouts in February for the teams at the 9U - 12U age groups. We hold tryouts for the 8U teams in April. This year will be no different and we will be holding travel tryouts at TSE in Quakertown on Feb 6th and 13th. In order to ensure we follow proper COVID-19 protocols we are requesting parents to pre-register for tryouts so we arrange tryouts based on the number of participants.
No parents will be allowed into the facility during the tryouts and all participants will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the tryouts. Temperatures will be taken.
What is Travel Baseball? Travel Baseball is an extension of the regular season. Typically teams 9U and older are involved in a spring league that provides them additional games on Sundays. They will also begin practices as soon as teams are formed and the weather is nice enough. A typical travel season will include 4+ tournaments a year. They typically kick off on Memorial Day Weekend and traditional end in July. Most tournaments are VERY local and within 30 minutes of the Harleysville Facility. There is an additional fee for travel baseball that runs around $300 which includes your uniform. This fee varies depending on the tournaments entered. Harleysville Baseball does have funds available to help if a child needs it.
The 9U team will be new this year because we did not have an 8U team last year. If you are consider trying out for this team and would like more information please reach out the executive board.
