Virtual conference
For the organisation of a virtual conference a number of decisions need to be made. Please fill in the form below as if the conference would be fully virtual.
How many days should a virtual conference last?
There are different ways of organizing a virtual conference. One approach is to maintain a rather normal schedule, with people coming online for sessions that interest them. The other is to change the structure more fundamentally; for instance, pre-recorded videos could allow to shorten the duration of the scheduled program.

Should we take time zones into account?
In a virtual conference people are not awake at the same time. We can try to take this into account by scheduling sessions at working hours for the people involved, instead of having topic-wise sessions.
Working hours should definitely be respected. I will only attend a session during working hours.
This is not important. I am willing to shift my sleeping hours.

Should talks for papers be pre-recorded?
By prerecording talks, attendees can see presentations before the conference; the presentations are of higher quality and the conference can be shorter. However, without live presentations self-discipline is required to watch videos in advance; discussions will be less lively, as some attendants will not be well-prepared for a discussion.
