Will you have reliable access to the internet and a computer this semester? If not, what sort of technical limitations might you encounter? *
How will you be participating in class? Will you be attending the class meetings on campus? Will you be joining synchronously on Zoom during our regularly scheduled sessions? Will you be watching class recordings asynchronously (for example you are in Korea and the time difference means you would have to attend class online at an unreasonable time)? Will you be doing a mix? *
This course is scheduled to meet in person every week. It is understood that you may not be able to be physically present. This question is a way to gauge what will work best for most. My plan is to provide lecture content through short videos for you to watch prior to class, so what we do together is geared towards discussion, workshops, and critique. Some classes will be set aside for small-group and one-on-one meetings.
Where will you be physically located this semester? If you are not in New York City, what is the time difference between NYC and where you are? Will there be any difficulties for you to attend synchronous class meetings? *
Are there any privacy or access limitations I should be aware of? *
What sort of platforms work well for you for class content? *
We have used Slack extensively in IDM courses, is this suitable? I have also posted videos to Youtube. Would a different platform work better for you?
Do you have any suggestions about class structure based on your circumstances?
