An especially busy Education area each year is the Drone Petting Zoo where children (and their parents) learn about honey bees by having an opportunity to handle drone bees, which do not sting. To do this though we need many beekeepers to collect drone bees from their hives the morning of the Festival and bring them to the Education team.
If you might be able to help provide Drones and make many children happy, please sign-up here. Drones will need to pulled the morning of the Festival and it would be great to have them delivered to the Drone Petting Zoo at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 or 12:30. To transport, place drones in a small butterfly/insect, pop-up mesh cage with a damp paper towel on the bottom, and kept out of the sun or blasting car AC.
