There is no waiting period to qualify for District tuition benefits for persons moving here from another neighboring sponsored district in Perry, Dauphin, and Cumberland Counties, provided they have met that district’s residency requirements.
Each sponsoring district will be responsible for subsidizing eligible persons residing in the eligible district on July 1. In other words, based on where you reside on July 1st, that is the school district that you must apply with for that fiscal year. If you live in Harrisburg School District on July 1 for the year you are applying for, you are eligible to proceed with this application. If you lived in a neighboring school district on July 1, you must apply with that school district, even if you moved here on July 2nd.
A person moving from one sponsoring district to another after July 1 will remain the responsibility of the original district for that fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
Persons who move into the Harrisburg School District from a non-sponsoring district must reside here for a period of six (6) months prior to enrollment at HACC to qualify for the local sponsoring district residency tuition rate.
A certificate of residency will be valid only during the fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) in which they are issued. There will be no retroactive certification after the close of of the application period on September 30th for the prior fiscal year.
Persons liable for and delinquent in payment of eligible taxes, shall not be eligible for a certificate of residency until all accounts in arrears are brought current with Keystone Collections Agency.
In order for current high school students to be eligible, the student's high school class must be graduated or the student granted early admission in accordance with the District’s early admission policy.
If any part of this application is not completed or entered in the incorrect format (date, address etc), you agree that your application will be denied and you must re-enter it. We cannot change your responses for you.
