Technology for Change Days - Atelier 6  : Future Opportunities for Drones in Europe
>> CLOSED APPLICATION <<

Date : Tuesday 5 April 2022
From 2pm to 5pm
Language : English
Address : Station F 55 boulevard Vincent-Auriol, Paris 75013

Conducted by : Assoc. Prof. Marianne Harbo Frederiksen (University of Southern Denmark) & Prof. Mette Præst Knudsen (University of Southern Denmark, École Polytechnique - IP Paris)

Summary : Drones (i.e., unmanned aerial vehicles) are being associated with high commercial and disruptive potential. The commercial opportunities for the use of drones are, however, still mostly imagined, as a range of issues that must be resolved. In this workshop, we will present recent research on both barriers and opportunities for unleashing the potential of drones. Based on pre-selected use cases, we will discuss opportunities for using drones in France for logistic purposes like in a health care setting (e.g., transportation of blood samples or doctors), for public safety and emergency management, and for inspection and maintenance of critical infrastructure.
Besides presenting the most recent research on the barriers to using drones, we will also present some current use cases, use the workshop format to identify alternative use cases and cross-fertilization between use cases, and take a look into a future with drones.

Audience :  Innovation & business development managers, chief technology officers, anyone interested in emerging technologies, drones and development of new markets

Goals : Present recent research on the use of drones in (mainly Northern) Europe ; give a long-term perspective on the future of drones ; stimulate reflection and discussion on the use of drones in France ; discuss how to prepare and develop value chains for the integration of drones.
