Cedar High School is an opportunity for students to approach their high school experience through a collaborative and interdisciplinary lens. Our focus is rigorous and prepares students for post secondary education and beyond. For students who are committed to working together in groups and challenging themselves to grow beyond the classroom, we are a great option.
All students are graded not only on their knowledge and thinking, but also on oral communication, written communication, collaboration, and agency in all classes. Students will be expected to do oral presentations and to share the amazing projects that they have created with their group members.
Since we share our campus with Olympic College students and staff we have high standards for behavior and academic performance. These are markedly different than traditional schools. We also collaborate to coordinate resources as students enter Running Start or transition to Olympic College after high school.
Cedar High School is part of the New Tech Network, which embeds real-world skills into every project. Collaboration, critical thinking, and student agency are just a few attributes that students will gain while at Cedar High School. Therefore attendance and engagement is vital. You must commit to being at school every day for your own advancement and your group.
We will look at your past attendance, participation and grades in your current school while reviewing your application. We also realize you may pick us because you are looking for a new option. We want to make sure that you are set up for success at Cedar High School.
