The PetaFLOP: A Night at the Blues Museum
Most parties don’t have the word FLOP in their name, but for our special audience FLOPs are a good thing, and the more the merrier!
The PetaFLOP is a recurring event that was originally started by a grant-funded research community as an alternative to the typical post-conference vendor parties. For many of our guests, attending vendor parties is not in compliance with vendor gift policies. The PetaFLOP is a community party, funded by a variety of vendor sponsors, but we provide less than $10 value per person in snacks. There is a cash bar for drinks. The sponsors will be providing drink tickets to those who are allowed to receive them. The PetaFLOP also represents a chance to gather with friends, hangout, and talk. We we will have music and dancing, but in a separate space, so you can still have private conversations.
