Thank you for your interest in running for the Spanish and Latin American Club committee.
Eligibility
MUST be an ordinary member of SLAC for at least 7 days, a Clayton student, undertaking at least one unit of study, have not had your membership rights suspended; and are 18 years or older by 07/09/2022.
Vacant positions
You can apply to one or more of the following positions.
Vice President: They act as back up for the President. They are another face of all things SLAC.
- Expectations: 3-4 hours a week
Treasurer: They deal with all financial matters of the club, and report back to C&S.
- Expectations: 2-4 hours a week
Secretary: Their main roles are writing minutes for committee meetings, booking rooms and sorting out attendance.
- Expectations: 3-4 hours a week
Academic Coordinator: They are in charge of organising our conversation classes as well as any other academic events.
- Expectations: 1-3 hours a week
General Representative: Just want to help out on the committee in general? Then this is the perfect position for you! This is a good beginning position to see how SLAC works and help out without a large responsibility.
- Expectations: 1-2 hours a week
NOTE:
You can self nominate, but you cannot second your nomination.
The same individual cannot both nominate or second a candidate - its one or the other.
If you cannot find a nominator and/or seconder, just fill in this form anyway and the Returning Officer will organise one for you!
Individuals can nominate and/or second for more than one candidate. Nominations can also be withdrawn at any time.
In the case that a position is contested, please be prepared to present a speech to the AGM attendees. Your speech should be between 1-2 minutes and should outline why would you be the best candidate for the role.
