Green Event Grant
Keep Arkansas Beautiful (KAB) is offering two (2) grants for the fall Great Arkansas Cleanup season and two (2) grants for the Great American Cleanup season to city/county governments, companies, and organizations seeking to elevate their cleanup, recycling drive or beautification effort beyond supplies already provided by KAB. This grant will be awarded on a reimbursement basis and up to $500. Awardee, as used in this grant, refers to the city/county government, company or organization the applicant is applying on behalf of.

Great Arkansas Cleanup application period - Aug.14, 2023 - Oct. 30, 2023
Great American Cleanup application period - Feb. 12, 2024 - April 30, 2024
Grant applications are reviewed and grants awarded twice a year.  


Requirements:
  • Applicants must complete all fields listed below. Applications that are incomplete will be denied. 
  • Provide all contact information.
  • Any purchased materials for the effort must be submitted to KAB of proof of expenses before any grant funds are dispersed to the awardee. Any receipt that is not provided is ineligible for reimbursement.
  • If grant is awarded, applicant and any partner entities agree to provide data about the effort such as pounds of litter collected, pounds of recyclables collected, how many plants were planted, square footage of graffiti removed, etc. 
Items not Reimbursable:
The below list of items are ineligible for reimbursement through this grant as KAB currently offers these items through its cleanup program.
  • trash bags
  • mesh litter bags
  • latex gloves
  • cotton gloves
  • rubber gloves
  • safety vests
Items eligible for Reimbursement:
The below list of items are eligible for reimbursement through this grant as KAB currently does not offer these items. This list is not limited to the below items, but provides some examples of types of materials it may cover.

Litter Removal Materials:
  • litter grabbers
  • trash receptacles
  • volunteer apparel
  • community signage
  • dumpster
Recycling Materials:
  • recycling receptacles
  • recycling signage
Beautification Materials:
  • yard/landscaping equipment
  • seeds, plants, shrubs, trees
  • community signage
  • paint
  • brushes, paint rollers

If selected for the grant, a letter of intent to award will be submitted to the applicant. A letter of intent to award does not guarantee the grant will be awarded. Failure to complete the above listed requirements will lead to grant funds not being dispersed to the awardee and the awardee will be ineligible to apply and receive a Green Event grant in the future. Awardees can only receive this grant one time and will be ineligible for future Green Event grants. 

Grant applications will be scored on a 9-point rating scale (1 = exceptional; 9 = poor) and based on need, goals, innovation and environment.
