We are delighted to be running our Network Awards again this year. This is your chance to celebrate everything that we have achieved over the past 12 months. There are eight Awards celebrating excellence amongst our researchers and teams - below you will find a description of each category and the criteria the panel will be considering when making the awards.

15 September 2023. Collaboration in Research
This Award will recognise collaborations which have benefited the delivery of studies across systems in the region and beyond.
Think about:
*Innovative ways of working together
*Internal – between departments, or external - with wider NHS or other organisations
Also consider:
*The extent to which the collaboration is outside usual working relationships
*The impact the collaboration has had on study delivery for the benefit of the public
Innovation of the Year
This Award will go to an individual or team which has implemented innovations in design, delivery or engagement in research, including use of digital technology.
Think about:
*Evidence of the impact of the innovation
*Benefits to the organisation, partners or participants
Also consider:
*Can it be replicated across the region?
*How is it better than more traditional methods?
Patient & Public Involvement and Engagement Award
This Award will go to an individual or team who have shown outstanding commitment to involving patients or the public in research design and delivery. For example, a member of the research team, a patient representative/patient ambassador who has really made a difference.
Think about:
*Have patients, public and carers been involved at every stage of studies?
*Evidence of how involvement in research has been promoted to patients and carers
*The innovative way patients have been involved/engaged in research
Also consider:
*How the study has benefitted from this involvement
Research Contribution of the Year
This Award will go to anyone from a medical or non-medical discipline who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to research in any evidenced way.
Think about:
*What unique contribution have they made to research in the region?
*How they have engaged with the Network or Research Team to promote research
*What impact have they had on care?
Also consider:
*Meeting or exceeding recruitment
*Evidence of embracing new types of research or developing an area of previously low activity
Industry Award
This Award will go to the Team or Individual who has shown a significant contribution to the improvement of set-up and delivery of industry studies, but also a demonstrable increase in capability and capacity to deliver life sciences industry research.
Think about
*This does not have to mean numbers of participants, but could include studies in new services or areas
*Working creatively with industry partners to increase the strength and breadth of projects delivered in the region.
Also consider:
*Demonstrable increase in being able to successfully deliver commercial studies through skills, capacity and capability development
Embedding Research Award
This Award will go to individuals or teams who can demonstrate how they have contributed to embedding a research culture in their organisation.
Think about:
*Projects you have implemented which are aimed at embedding a research culture
*Evidence of implementation of research findings and their impact on care
*Feedback from CQC how research is contributing to its Well Led domain.
Also consider:
*How has the change been measured?
Access to Research Award
This award will go to any individual or team who can show that they have been able to increase opportunities to participate in research for their service users and staff.
Think about:
*Engagement activity - this could be face to face events, work with Research Champions, social media campaigns etc
*The impact the engagement has had on recruitment
Also consider:
*How this activity can be further widened in future
Training & Development Award
This Award will recognise support for the training and development of research staff at all levels.
Think about:
*How the organisation or individuals have supported the development of research skills and understanding
*How the impact of this support can be demonstrated
Also consider:
*Actions taken to share/promote the support available
