Project One Piece a Day (O.P.A.D):Workshop Length: 2-3 class visits
(O.P.A.D) is a S.T.E.A.M. based citizens science project that encourages students in a classroom setting (k-12) to pick up and document at least one piece of litter per day for a group chosen amount of consecutive days.
Paper Making & Junk Journals:
Workshop Length: 1-3 class visits
This lesson involves creating handmade journals, postcards and paper out of used paper collected from the school. This lesson emphasizes The reusability in the items around us we deem as trash. It also offers an opportunity to document and think critically about the quantity of paper being utilized by the classroom or school.
Leadership on the Lawn:
Workshop Length: 1 class visits
This new program is designed for students from 5th through 12th grade, as well as adults. the comprehensive learning progression, comprising a series of challenges each small group of around 10 must work together to complete, is designed in alignment with “21st Century Learning Skills” and focuses on leadership development, collaborative problem solving, teamwork, group communication, and building individual confidence and self-understanding. participants will build trust and understanding among peers, and foster a community-driven culture. the 2-3 hour program is taught outdoors on location by we.grow.eco facilitators. we create an inclusive and fun atmosphere for participants to learn more about themselves and bond with their fellow community members, and helps teachers and administrators build a positive learning environment.
Building Watersheds:
Workshop Length: 1- 3 class visits
In this lesson, students will learn about watersheds by making a model and watching how water moves through it. They'll identify watershed parts and consider how they work together. Then, they'll make their own watershed model and think about how it connects to the local water cycle.
