MXR's R6 Tournament Commentator Application
Milpitas Xtreme Robotics is interested in commentators for our upcoming esports tournament. If you would like to become one, please thoroughly read the notes below.

Please encourage anyone who you think would qualify for this position to consider. More commentators mean less time each of the commentators would have to talk. (This will not affect the number of community service hours you receive.)

Some of these rules and conditions may change over time, and we are open to suggestions.

REQUIREMENTS:
 - Be able to make it to Milpitas High School on May 24th, 2020 (the day of the tournament).
 - Know general map knowledge (Villa, Consulate, Kafe Dostoyevsky, Coastline, Clubhouse, Bank, Border).

HIGHLY PREFERRED:
 - Be charismatic, crack jokes, and keep the audience entertained.
 - Know detailed map knowledge of previously mentioned maps, as well as potential strategies players can utilize.
NOTES:
 - Filling this application out does NOT mean you will get the job.
 - WE WILL BE MEETING WITH YOU either in-person or on a voice call, to get to know you a bit better and see if you're the one we're looking for. (Details will be sent to you)
 - You can earn community service hours!
 - Competitors are allowed to be commentators but are less likely to be chosen.
 - We will have two commentators at a time to keep things flowing, so you may want to pair up with a friend. With this in mind, please coordinate with your partner. Silence is preferable over two commentators talking over each other. Note that if tension rises, either change topics or keep silent. You may deal with it afterward.
 - We are unsure how audible the commentary will be to the competitors, so keep in mind you may have to use ambiguous language or just not mention certain events entirely.
 - The answer is "Yope" for the first question.
 - Avoid bias either for or against teams or team members.
 - Don't go on long rants on why elements of the game suck. Stuff like hit registration or flaws in map design can be mentioned but should be kept to about a sentence.
 - There is a difference between an attack and an observation. We want more of the latter. (i.e. calling a decision or move "flawed" instead of "dumb" or “stupid”) Toxicity is an infamous part of Rainbow that we DO NOT want in this public event.
 - You are allowed to crack jokes and curse, but please think before you speak. Don't overuse curse words. Keep in mind you are representing Milpitas High School and Milpitas Xtreme Robotics, so don't make any racist, sexist, homophobic, or generally offensive remarks.
 - There will be 7 matches (expected to take up to an hour+ each).
