Cultivating Affirmation and Belonging for LGBTQ+ Youth (60-90 minutes): Examine statistics related to discrimination within schools and risks that LGBTQ+ youth face on a day-to-day basis, then discuss ways that we can improve school climate through various strategies from simple word choice to school/district/organizational policy change. (Can be tailored to specific types of organizations; examples include foster care agencies, school social workers, and libraries.)

Cultivating an Affirming Home Environment (60-90 minutes): Discuss the differences between the experiences of young LGBTQIA+ people and their caregivers. Talk about the various emotional challenges that both groups will face as well as some strategies for making your home an affirming place through concrete steps you can take. Consider how your home life may change once your young person has come out. Conversations include coming out to extended family, managing conflict, having discussions around sexual and mental health, and more.

Kaleidoscope Youth Center (30 minutes): All about Kaleidoscope, who we are and what we do, and how you and your organization can get involved.

Anti-LGBTQIA+ Legislation (60 minutes): Discuss current bills related to LGBTQIA+ youth (and adults), and participate in a testimony-writing workshop. Then learn about other ways you can get involved in LGBTQIA+ advocacy!

The Gender Unicorn (60 minutes): **available as a self-facilitated virtual course** Review the components of gender, including gender identity, gender expression, and sex assigned at birth, along with sexuality and the LGBTQIA+ acronym. Learn how to use personal gender pronouns correctly (and why that matters!) and what words to avoid.

Path to Belonging: Intersectionality and Racial Justice in LGBTQIA+ Communities (90 minutes): Explore the complexity and nuance of intersectionality and racial justice as it applies to LGBTQIA+ youth. Participants will practice the application of these lenses through case scenarios and group discussions.
