Guest Mentor/Teacher Application
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Academy31!

We are seeking female volunteers who love Christ, share a heart for our mission, and are excited to leverage their time and talent toward enhancing our students' experience in education and discipleship in the following two capacities:

1. Guest Mentor

Every Friday at Academy31 is Biblical Womanhood Friday. This unique program of study is designed to train our students in applying the wisdom of God's Word to every area of their hearts, lives, relationships, and the world around them, while learning from godly female role models of various ages and stages of life, diverse backgrounds and ethnicities, and wide-ranging interests, skills, and vocations. The goal is for our students to make profound connections between what they are learning in class and how it applies to real life in the real world. During second period's Biblical Womanhood in the Community, we'll have visiting Guest Mentors share an engaging personal testimony/presentation, live Q&A, and hands-on guided learning activity related to what they've shared. Each Guest Mentor will give our young women an exciting glimpse of the myriad ways in which God is presently using female believers (and may desire to use them one day) to further His kingdom both locally and around the world. Monthly Field Trips on Fridays will incorporate an on-site visit to observe a Guest Mentor serving our community in a unique capacity and/or participation in a purposeful community service project.

Serving as a Guest Mentor would be a one-visit commitment on a Friday from 10:05-11:45AM (both 6th & 7th grades meet together).

2. Guest Teacher

Middle school electives at Academy31, entitled Super Skills & Creative Arts, will follow a multi-faceted, unit-by-unit scope and sequence. Students will learn a series of practical life skills through fun, hands-on lessons and activities. They will also explore and express their creativity through various artistic disciplines such as drawing, painting, sculpting, music, drama, etc. All the while, each student will be challenged and inspired to consider how she might reflect the glory of her Creator and pursue excellence in every aspect of her life. Each unit will be planned and taught by a Guest Teacher with specific expertise in and passion for a particular life skill or artistic discipline. Given that we are a brand-new school with limited budget, it would be a great blessing to Academy31 if our Guest Teachers would be willing to donate supplies for the demonstrations and projects involved in the unit they teach.

Serving as a Guest Teacher would be a multi-visit commitment over spread over multiple days or weeks on Mon/Wed during first semester or Tues/Thurs during second semester from 12:25-2:05PM (both 6th & 7th grades meet together).
