Parents are their children’s first and most important teachers. We value your role in working to help your child achieve high academic standards.  The following is an outline of some of the ways that we can together build and maintain a strong home-school partnership to share the responsibility of supporting your child’s learning.

School’s Responsibility:

  • Provide an environment that fosters acceptance and respect
  • Provide high quality curriculum and learning materials
  • Provide parents with assistance in understanding academic achievement standards and assessments and how to monitor student progress
  • Provide opportunities for ongoing communication between parents and teachers through:

    1. Annual Parent-Teacher Conferences

    2. Frequent reports regarding student progress  

    3. Opportunities to talk with staff, volunteer in class, and observe classroom activities

Parent’s Responsibility:

  • Commit to having your child be on time and attend school everyday
  • Encourage your child to show positive school behavior and follow school expectations of being respectful, responsible and safe
  • Review your child’s homework
  • Monitor and limit screen time to encourage positive use of your child’s time
  • Volunteer in your child’s school and classroom if time or schedule permits
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences and participate, when appropriate, in decisions relating to the education of your child
