Independent Study #3
This week, we continue our exploration of the first big question that philosophy tackles: What can I know? But we're jumping ahead by many centuries to see how so-called "modern philosophy" addressed the question. This week's work is designed to help you jump ahead without falling on your face!

First you'll be asked to watch another short video from Crash Course--this one is all about the Scientific Revolution, which is the way historians sometimes talk about what was happening in Europe during the centuries just prior to the rise of Modern Philosophy." This is followed by a reading from the textbook, introducing you to Descartes and what he's trying to explore in his Meditations. Finally, I'm asking you to read the first Meditation in order to get your personal take on it.

Happy thinking!!
