According to UM policy, students are limited to enrolling in the following number of credit hours per session:

Fall/Spring ..............................................................................19 credit hours
Summer I/II .............................................................................7 credit hours
Full Summer ...........................................................................14 credit hours
May/Aug/Jan Intersessions ...................................................4 credit hours

Students who wish to exceed the maximum number of credit hours in a session must request that any course going over the limit be added by the Office of the Dean. An overload appeal will only be considered if there is a compelling reason and the student has a cumulative GPA four-tenths of a point above 2.0 for each extra hour desired (this is the minimal requirement for consideration but does not guarantee approval).
