PopShopWV Spring 2022 Session 2 Registration
***Performance Session Registration is closed, please send email info@popshopwv.com with the following (student name, age, instrument/voice, availability) and we can see if any positions open up within the first couple weeks***

Bands will meet once a week for 6 weeks (1.5 hrs for each rehearsal; 9 hours of instructional time total) to learn songs, have fun with their friends, and then perform live what they've learned! We group bands together based on age, experience, instruments, and if they have friends in the program they'd like to play with. For more info, please email info@popshopwv.com 

We have safety protocols in place which means we retrieve students outside the building at start time and we require masks at all times.

PopShop Music Technology Classes - Spring 2022
* Class times are flexible! Register for your desired class and the instructor will contact you for scheduling.

PopShopWV + Bookworm Effects: Build Your Own Pedal
Groups will meet for four 90 minute classes to learn how to read a pedal schematic, overview of parts/components, and learn to build their own pedal! The pedal will have some brand new features: 2-band EQ, and soft-touch relay based switching (No hard clicking footswitch). Choice between Overdrive/Boost or Distortion/Fuzz. Can be tailored for Guitar or Bass. Email brian@popshopwv.com if you have questions

Audio Engineering Class
Groups will meet on five days (usually weekends/off week) for two hour classes to learn the basics of audio engineering. Students will learn the basics of signal flow, recording hardware/software, microphone types and applications, and then record an actual band's song! Students will also have the chance to do a quick mix.

Sketch & Release Class -  Schedule TBA but we'd be looking at weekends in April and May, 5 classes that are 2 hours long each.

 
        PopShop’s Sketch & Release Class will now be available through the Fall and Spring Sessions! The class teaches students how to create their own music and comedy TV show. Your child, with their peers, will spend a week writing skits and songs, producing their own hit TV show. Imagine “Saturday Night Live” meets “The Monkees”, with your child as the star of the show.

Students, age 10-18, will meet at the PopShop studios for two hours a day.

During the class, groups will:

- Create and film a show sponsor

- Brainstorm, storyboard, write, and film scenes with dialogue

- Write and record a commercial

- Write and perform a grand finale song

No previous musical/theater/art experience is required. Students will be immersed in all three by the end of the week.

After filming and editing, a finished show will be sent to each student!
