The PSAT 8/9 and NMSQT is an optional test available to interested 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th-grade students. This test can serve as practice for the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test). Juniors could become eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Competition based on their test results. Taking this test as a Junior is the ONLY way to be eligible for National Merit recognition. We will not be having a PSAT 8/9 and 10 Spring test, so register now for SAT practice.
Sophomores may also take the PSAT/NMSQT as practice for the SAT and to become familiar with this test so they can maximize their score for National Merit recognition if they take the test again their Junior year.
High School students will be test at JHS on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 at the beginning of the school day (periods 1-4) and Middle School students will have theirs administered at the JMMS. Students will report directly to their testing location. The test is approximately 3 hours long. The test measures knowledge and skills in reading, writing/language, and math.
