I agree to commit myself faithfully to teach sportsmanship and fair play within all my players.

I will be a good role model that all my players can look up to.

I will respect the rules, players, opponents, and the officials and their decisions.

I will maintain self-control at all times and refrain from using foul language.

I will adhere to the BDMHA Constitution, all by-laws and regulations.

I acknowledge that as a coach I must complete the required coaching levels, safety course and speak out program as mandated by Hockey Nova Scotia and I will ensure all team staff meets their certification standards.

I understand that “Player Development” is a priority in the Association and I will assist and provide input and support, as required, to the HDP and Development Coordinator.

Upon notification that I have been selected as a Head Coach, I will submit a list of nominees for Assistant Coaches, Trainer, Manager and Treasurer for consideration and approved by the Executive Committee prior to offering them a position.

As a condition of being selected, I understand I must complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

I will not openly be critical of any players on our team, opposing teams, officials or other coaches.

I will treat all players fairly, with respect, and ensure that all players receive equal instruction, support and playing time.

I will be organized and prepared for all practice sessions and games to maximize and optimize all scheduled ice time.
