Butte County Community School COVID-19 Planning Survey for School Year 2020-21
Thank you for participating in the Butte County Community School COVID-19 Planning Survey for School Year 2020-21.
What is the purpose of the COVID-19 Planning Survey for School Year 2020-21?
The COVID-19 Planning Survey for School Year 2020-21 collects your feedback so that our school and leaders can understand and respond to your needs during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Given the multiple years of emergencies in our county, and the likelihood that COVID-19 will still be with us in the fall, we are currently planning to redesign and strengthen Distance Learning as a core element of our academic program. We are also looking for ways to provide as much in-person learning as possible. Our expectation is there could be a partial reopening of school campuses for in-person instruction, if permitted by health officers, and upon developing plans in conjunction with our labor partners. It is our goal to be able to return students to on-campus learning when it is safely feasible.
We will follow the guidance of Public Health Officers for best practices for reopening school campuses. For example, these public health requirements are likely preconditions:
* District and school facilities and offices modified to comply with 6 foot social distancing;
* Students come to school in small, stable groups of about 12 students;
* Facilities cleaning, hand-washing and hand sanitizing stations follow public health standards;
* Staff and students are screened for symptoms;
* Staff and students wear face coverings and/or other protections as recommended; and
* Additional requirements and protocols in accordance with public health guidance.
