What is the Canal League?
The Canal League is a recreational and development league for adult players in London. The league will be designed to create a space for adult players to play baseball have fun and learn in a low pressure environment.
Who is the Canal League aimed at?
The Canal League will be aimed at players who meet the criteria below:
• Graduates of our B4B program or equivalent experience level (single-A or below)
• Youth players who are aged 14 up
Rosters
In order to be considered for a place on a roster for the 2024 Canal League season you need to register as a player with the London Mets Baseball Club. Rosters will be decided once registration is closed.
Registrations will close on Sunday 7th April 2024 at 23:59, please register your interest early. You will need to register by the 18th of March to be considered for the Croydon friendly on the 6th of April.
Fees
Fees for the 2024 Canal League season
may be paid in two instalments via direct debit:
- Members will pay the first instalment of fees along with the announcement of rosters in March.
- A second payment link will be taken out on the 1st June.
Please note: if you are not signed up to a direct debit you will be expected to pay the full amount of the fees up front. Those requiring flexibility/assistance may reach out regarding the Sports Access Fund (SAF)
Canal League fees for the 2024 season are as follows:
- £120 (you will receive game day t-shirt)
- £135 (you will receive a game day t-shirt + a signature London Mets cap)
BBF Registration
This year the BBF will be implementing a registration fee to all participants, this includes managers, coaches, players, volunteers, and umpires. The fee is payable directly to the BBF with the proceeds used to develop the sport and provide funding for safeguarding software, insurance, umpire training etc. The registration fee is £12.50 for canal league players. A link for this payment will be shared by the BBF shortly.
