ABOUT WYCKOFF HOUSE MUSEUM:
The Wyckoff Farmhouse is New York City's oldest house, dating back to c. 1652. This remarkable historic structure sits on the 1.25 acre Fidler-Wyckoff Park, a New York City Parks site. Designated as the city's first landmark and a National historic landmark, the museum welcomes thousands of visitors each year for school field trips, family days, garden workshops, tours, and community events.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Garden Apprentice Program (GAP) provides first-hand experience growing organic vegetables, herbs, and other plants on the Farm at Fidler-Wyckoff Park in East Flatbush. Apprentices will support a monthly farm stand on Saturday mornings where fresh vegetables from the farm are available to the community. As the program progresses Apprentices will participate in workshops and be responsible for preparing and facilitating a workshop of their own design. The 2024 Garden Apprentice Program will be conducted entirely on-site, outdoors in Fidler-Wyckoff Park.

Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 9am-1pm or 2pm & Saturdays assigned shifts between 9AM – 4PM. FALL: Saturdays assigned shifts between 9AM – 4PM. September 7 - October 26, 2024
PAY RATE: $16.00/hour—paid biweeklyRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Taking care of the Farm: harvesting vegetables, weeding, watering, composting
- Engaging with community members, volunteers and visitors
- Participating in weekly workshops & field trips
- Assisting with the coordination of special events, including the arm stand, community workshops, seasonal programs and volunteer days.
