Hello! We are currently taking down information for those are interested in purchasing our locally raised chicken for summer 2024.
If you would like to join the waitlist please read the details and process of ordering chicken from us and then provide your information in the form below.
We are the home of breeding Jersey Giant dual purpose chickens. We collect eggs regularly to sell, during our chick season we collect the Jersey Giant eggs and incubate them to hatch out chicks. These chicks are raised to sell live to other farms or to raise as meat birds for our customers. We purchase Cornish Cross chicks during chick days at our local farm store. Those birds are also raised as meat on our farm.
We strive to raise quality farm fresh chicken. We pasture/forest raise our chickens once they are out of the brooder, moving them through various areas on the farm where they can scratch and graze as they please. We do provide them with feed as well and source a meat bird feed locally. The chickens enjoy their extra snacks and treats and regularly receive "kitchen scraps" from the farm, we like to keep waste low here and the chickens help that process!
Once you join our waitlist you will be placed in the que based on your submission and that of others before and after you.
We have not set an incubation/hatch date yet. However, we expect our first round of Jersey Giants to go into the incubator July 2024. Once our chicks have hatched we will assign birds to those on the waitlist in the order that we received submissions. If we have enough chicks after the waitlist orders are filled we will open the rest up for pre-orders. If we do not have enough chicks to fulfill waitlist orders then we will notify those who are still on the waitlist of our next anticipated hatch date.
We have received our Cornish Cross birds and will be processing them the first week of June.
Once you have been assigned your bird(s) you can provide your deposit to Alvarez Acres (TOTAL) within one week. If you do not make your deposit within one week of being notified, your chicks will be passed on to the next person in line on the waitlist or to for new pre-orders. Deposits are non-refundable.
We will set a butcher date and update you when it is set. At this time we currently process our own meat birds here at the farm. Two weeks prior to the butcher date you can make your cut choices. We will provide a link similar to this one that will include cut options and pickup times. At this time you will also be reminded about your final payment to Alvarez Acres.
After your cuts are finished you will receive a call from us. You will pick up your cuts and make your final payment. If you do not make your final payment at the time of pick up your meat will not be released to you. Your order will be sold to the next person in line on the waitlist or for open orders. As a reminder the deposit made at assigning piglets is non-refundable.
