We are looking for new members for our Community Garden Crew. As long as our neighbors are going to bed without a decent meal to eat, we will continue to rely on others to grow farm fresh produce directly in communities where there is a shortage of healthy food options.
We are looking for you if you are interested in sustainable agriculture, enjoy the outdoors, and want to support our mission to bring FRESH PRODUCE to neighbors living in areas with limited access to healthy food choices.
We need helpers that are available to volunteer 3 to 5 days during a month. Shifts are on Fridays and the 2nd Saturday of the month from 10am to 11am on the dates listed below.
Volunteers will do tasks independently and practice social distance at our community garden which consists of 16 raised garden beds and 1/2 acre community orchard with blueberries, plums, peaches, nectarines, apples, and muscadine grapes. It is located at Brookdale Park in Americus, GA.
You must be able to wear a face covering while at the garden. You must be able to physically lift 25lbs and sustain rigorous physical work outdoors in all weather.
If you are selected, you must be available to attend in a mandatory online volunteer orientation on ONE of the dates below from 7pm to 8pm. A limited amount of spots are available for each orientation and spots are filled on a first come first serve basis.
