2023 Statements Wk 4- My Faith Statement
Our Statements series helps youth think about their faith in relation to the Apostles' Creed. Through this series youth will be asked to write statements about God/Creation, Jesus/Redemption, and the Holy Spirit/Sanctification. We'll watch a video teaching and then answer some questions in the Small Group time. By the end of the night we will ask youth to write a short statement summarizing their thoughts on each section (one for each week).

For Week 4, take a look at your past submissions for Weeks 1-3 and summarize these into a Faith Statement! There is no right or wrong way to write a Faith Statement.

Here are some examples:
EX 1: God our Savior and Lord, he has created everything that exists. He created everything with variety and diversity to make us all different. Jesus has and will always promise there is healing, restoration, and forgiveness. The Holy Spirit guides me through life.

EX 2: God is loving, eternal and powerful. I believe that God loves and cares about us and that he is almighty and knows more than us so we should have faith he is watching us and protecting us. Jesus is a Savior, love and selfless. Jesus came to save us from our signs and that he rose on the third day. The Holy Spirit is faith, love and the spirit of belief. I believe the Holy Spirit is inside all of us and that it is part of the Holy Trinity.

EX 3: I believe that God loves us, forgives us and saves us, not because of who we are or what we do, but because of the work of Christ and His love for all of us.

(For 8th Graders, this statement will be looked over in September for your Affirmation of Baptism and eventually published in the Affirmation of Baptism booklet in October. You'll have time to change it in the fall.)

Do your beliefs influence the way you live and act? Why or why not? *
Would your life be different if you didn’t believe? Why or why not? *
We want you to take some time and look back over your answers from the previous weeks and begin to work on your statement of faith.  Remember that it is the essence of your faith, not the totality of it. *
