Well, I've have had a few people from Rochester reach out and ask if I have ever thought about expanding our weeknight hockey leagues into the Rochester are, as I've been told there are limited options to play in the offseason... The answer is YES, it's crossed my mind!
For those who are not familiar with WNYSSH, we are a weeknight only spring & summer hockey league with cross-ice divisions starting with Mini-Mites and going all the way up to 16U, we also offer A & B divisions to have an option for all skill levels. Over the past two years, we have also added full-ice draft leagues at our two oldest age groups, Bantam and 16U.
Cross-ice, three on three leagues is our bread and butter as that is what the company was built on. We have fun jerseys, play music during games and encourage playing with friends, having FUN, creativity on the ice and a less structured environment versus what they get during the regular season... sometimes kids need to just play like us parents did on the ponds and streets as kids!
WNYSSH started out with 120 registrations and 2 age groups in 2020 and over the past 4 seasons, we have grown to over 600 registrations offering 6 age groups, and now are looking to branch out a bit more.
We are looking to gauge interest to see what type of commitment we would have in the 585 market to see if this is a venture that's worthwhile!
