In addition to donating financially, Kehillah North London is encouraging its members - for those that are able to - to volunteer to help the running of the shul.

While we of course recognise that we are all have different life circumstances, which can make it easier or harder to donate time to the running of the shul, we are also dependent on volunteer time, and would love to widen the number of people that are able to volunteer - even if in some small way - to the running of the shul.

Arrive early on two shabbat services in the year to help set up

Supervise setting up of kiddush on two shabbat services in the year

Buy challah, grape juice, kiddush wine, and other snacks for shabbat morning kiddush [expenses can be reimbursed]

Co-ordinate one of our festivals

Provide practical support and advice in improving our booking systems

Join the Chesed [pastoral care] group

Teach Hebrew

Co-ordinate building of the Sukkah

Clean and iron the Torah scroll covers

Check every three months to make sure that our cupboards are tidy

Administrate the Yahrzeit list

Stuff envelopes for the newsletter

Contribute to our music [including taking time to learn melodies]

Volunteer to run sessions in the Creche

Transport belongings when we hire different venues

Be responsible for liaising with the Sofer for any Torah scroll repairs

Volunteer with tech set up for two shabbat services in the year

Learn how to warden [assist in running of the services]

Write copy & create images for the website and/or social media (Facebook & Twitter)

Organising pictures to be taken at events (& obtaining permission from people in pictures to use on the website)

Assisting those running the streaming of services/meetings from home by co-hosting (opening the Zoom room early, letting people in from the waiting room, making sure there is no 'Zoom-bombing')
