There are two ways members can volunteer to organize events in 2024.1. Serve on a virtual team to organize webinars. We plan to maintain a full schedule of virtual educational events throughout 2024. Virtual events are focused on educational presentations and panel discussions. Virtual event planning teams are each expected to organize between 8-10 events per year.
2. Serve on a regional team to organize in-person events. In-person events are focused on tours, outdoor activities or volunteer events, and networking. Each regional team organizing in-person events is expected to organize between 2-4 events per year.
Teams typically meet virtually, once per month. Team members who take the lead to organize an event should anticipate an additional 2-4 hours of time to plan and host the event. Team members must be active AWWEE members.
There are three Board Committees that invite AWWEE member participation.
Events and Programs: Provides oversight and guidance for regional team events, as well as plan and coordinate association-sponsored events and programs.
Membership: Provides guidance necessary to develop membership and to help define the value and benefits of membership. The Committee is also charged with working to aid membership growth and member retention.
Marketing and Fundraising: Develops, implements, and evaluates the marketing strategies used to promote AWWEE, as well as assures financial viability and stability of the Association through fundraising.
The time commitment varies by committee. Committee members should anticipate 3-5 hours per month for committee involvement. Additional time may be required. Committee members must be active AWWEE members.
