To complement our
Black History of Lake Jackson display (on view Feb. 7th - Mar. 4th), we invite the public to
Remembering Resistance, an oral history program dedicated to remembering what racial segregation was like and how our communities resisted racism over time. The Remembering Resistance program will be held Tuesday, February 28th at 6 PM at the Lake Jackson Historical Museum.
Come to engage in discourse about the history of segregation, integration, and the fight for racial equality in Lake Jackson and Brazosport. Museum staff will facilitate memory sharing among speakers and audience members.
If you cannot attend the program or would like to museum staff to share your memory, we welcome you to share your story with us here. You do not have to write your name or residence if you would like to remain anonymous.
If you have any questions, please email programs@ljhistory.org. Thank you!
